Murree was extremely bright, came first in the State in the final school year exams, went to University, became a doctor and then a specialist. Unfortunately he died young of heart disease (46). His father was a doctor - a brother, and two of his sons have had distinguished careers as doctors and specialists as well. Gladys died fairly recently and lived to the age of 98. I have to get my head around the 4th cousin once removed. I have done my family tree back to the first generations to arrive in Australia, but haven't got as far back as Thomas Allen who died in Co Sligo. My John Allen arrived in Australia in 1862 with his four children after his wife (Catherine Kennedy) died back in Ireland. I am descended from John Kennedy Allen, his son. ------------------------------------------------------------
