Notes - From Find A Grave - gkc1
Orville had a twin sister named Gwen, she was born first. A carpenter and surveyor, Orville also worked at the sawmill run by his father. He married Lottie Elizabeth Lawless in Elkhart, Indiana on June 4, 1938, yet the couple raised all four of their children in their home township of Bruce (Chippewa Co.). Frank was born in his grandfather Oliver's Donaldson home yet by 1942 they had a home of their own just down the road. In 1944-45 Orville served in the U.S. Army as a Tech-5: Master Carpenter. He served in New Guinea, the Philippines and Japan, mostly building camps for the soldiers. After the war he became a devout Baptist. The couple separated in 1963, divorced in 1976. Orville retired in the 1970s, thereafter spending his winters in Tuscon, Arizona.
