  In 1847, when her husband Richard immigrated to Canada, he left Rachel, in Sligo with the children. As he made money, he sent it back home so others could immigrate. I found information in Riverstown, Sligo to confirm that Rachel was receiving some financial support from the local church from Christmas 1848 to March 1851. Rachael came to Canada in 1851 with children Robert, Richard and Mary Ann. It is unclear if son John came with his mother or before her. Parents Richard & Rachel, with John, Robert, Richard and Mary Ann were counted in the 1851 Census, which was actually conducted in January 1852.
