Notes - Known as Lizzie, Anna Elizabeth was the first child of William & Fanny McCrea. She was born in Madoc Twp, Ontario on June 30, 1873. She was 6 years old when her family arrived in Bruce Mines in 1879 with her, her brother Jack and two little sisters, Lottie and Mary. The following year they moved to Livingstone Creek, Algoma District, Ontario.
- A young Englishman from Portlock, Ontario, William Jewkes, was working for CPR. When he was in the area, he would attend the church at Livingstone Creek where Lizzie's sister, Hattie, was the organist. One Sunday Hattie invited William to their home for supper and there he met Lizzie. They were married in 1896.
- CPR employees were moved around the area, depending on their job with the railway. Lizzie and William began their family with Allie in 1897 and Fran in 1899 with both girls being born in Portlock. The following year they moved to Dayton, which Fran described as a "wayside place on the railroad with no houses in sight"; it was about five miles east of the McCrea homestead.
- In 1904, William decided to move his family back to England. However they missed Canada and soon returned to Livingstone Creek.
- The Jewkes lived in Jack McCrea’s house until he married in 1909, then they moved across the road to the Henry Kinch house.
- Their next move was to Garden River in 1910 or 1911 where William was severely injured on the job. He spent a long time in the hospital in the Sault and the family moved there.
- In 1918, they moved to Detroit, Michigan, USA where William worked in the Grand Lodge Headquarters. They finally returned to Canada and settled in Ottawa in 1925. William retired in 1946. At some point, they moved back to Detroit. Lizzie died at her daughter's home there in 1951 and she and William are both buried in Maple Ridge cemetery in Livingstone Creek, Algoma District, Ontario, Canada.
