  Birth date: Lottie's birth is recorded some places as 1 Sep 1876 and some in 1 Sep 1877. I think it must be 1876 as Lottie's sister, Mary Violet, was born 25 Feb 1878. 1891 Census - recorded as Letitia M (15) 1947 - Obituary Mrs Herb Allen - At her home on June 9th, 1947, Mrs Herb Allen passed to her rest after two and one half years of illness following a paralytic stroke. Mrs Allen, whose maiden name was Lottie McCrea, was born at Madoc, Ontario, on September 1st 1876. At the age of two years she came with her parents, Mrs and Mrs Wm McCrea, to Algoma. They lived at Cloudslee first, and later moved to a homestead at Livingstone Creek. There, with her three sisters, Lizzie (Mrs Jewkes), Mary (Mrs Robt Elliott), Hattie (Mrs Ray Elliott) and five brothers, Jack, Bob, Ed, Bill and Goldie, she attended school and grew to womanhood. On June 9th, 1909, she was married to Herb Allen of Iron Bridge. They resided in Thessalon until March, 1913, when they bought the farm adjoining her father's homestead, where she lived until her death. Mrs Allen, of a quiet retiring disposition, did not take an active part in community affairs, but had many friends. The funeral from the family residence on June 11th was largely attended.
